Doncaster Rovers Community Sports & Education Foundation delivers an extensive schools programme throughout the whole school year.
Our experienced coaching team take control of sessions during timetabled physical education sessions, breakfast clubs, lunch time and after school sessions delivering football, multi-skills and multi-sport based activities.
During the last half term the team were delivering an astonishing 45 sessions a week in 19 different schools that totalled well over 50 hours of organised high quality coaching a week in Doncaster schools.
However we have saved the most impressive figures to last. The total number of participant visits during the schools programme last term exceeded the 5,000 mark coming in at an exact 5,162. That is 860 a week and a more impressive 172 pupil visit per school day.
With the schools programme growing in numbers this half term the sports foundation are looking to improve on the already impressive figures next half term.
Community Manager Eric Randerson said" We are over the moon with the figures, however for the coaching team and myself it is as much, if not more about ensuring we do our bit to make physical activity an enjoyable and educational experience. We try our best to spread the good work of Doncaster Rovers and keeping a healthy lifestyle even if football is not their chosen sport. A big thank you to the coaching team who have worked very hard over the last six weeks, with the schools programme still growing and with us receiving further request daily it shows what a good job they really are doing."
