This cold and wet Friday morning, community coach and keen marathon runner Joe Burton did his bit to raise awareness and money for charity Help for Heroes.

The Community Team had been invited to take part by the Civic Mayor, Ros Jones who has chosen Help for Heroes as her charity to support during her term in office. The event was based around freeman of the borough, Tommy Joyce who is running a marathon distance using a treadmill on the steps of the Mansion House. Joe, along with young army recruits took their turns to run alongside Tommy. With the event still in progress, all at Doncaster Rovers wish Tommy all the best in his courageous attempts to raise money for such a worthy cause.

Help for Heroes is an extremely worthy cause and Civic Mayor Ros Jones added, "Could we urge people to give as generously as they can. These young people are giving their all for us. Never have so many owed so much to so few".
