Rovers community team are out and about this week running the Football League Trust 'Fit for Football' programme at local schools which promotes well being for young people. All professional footballers know that they must keep themselves fit and be at their best. To do this, they need to eat healthily, take plenty of exercise and not smoke cigarettes. The 'Fit for Football' team are providing loads of activities for the children to do based around these healthy objectives. As well as that every child gets an activity programme book based around healthy eating and exercise.
Richard Bailey Community Officer "Fit For Football began as a pilot session in North Lincolnshire involving Football League clubs Scunthorpe United and Grimsby Town. The pilot was so successful that the Football League Trust got involved. At this stage, clubs throughout the country were asked to attend training on the Fit For Football Programme in order to deliver it themselves in their area. The training sessions in South Yorkshire were held here at the Keepmoat Stadium and myself and Community coach Sam Parkin attended during the summer. We now fully deliver Fit For Football in several Doncaster schools and judging by the feedback we have got so far the kids are loving the sessions."
