KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BALL

Posted on: Tue 13 Jul 2010

Doncaster Rovers' very own Community Coach Joe Burton is competing in the Everyman's football-themed 10K run around Rother Valley Country Park on Sunday 18th July 2010, to help raise awareness and funds towards Everyman's research into prostate and testicular cancers.

Last year more than 350 runners completed the London course and helped to raise over £40,000. They hope to do the same in Sheffield. All funds raised from the event go directly into vital cancer research, some of which is carried out at the Everyman centre, Europe's first research centre dedicated to understanding prostate and testicular cancer and improving treatments and ultimately finding cures. Everyman has also joined forces with the FA and PFA to host a series of football themed runs across the UK.

Joe, who has previously competed in the Great North Run in 2009, where he came 2452nd and the Rother Valley Triathlon Festival earlier this year where he crossed the finish in 299th place out of 455 entrants.
