The Doncaster Rovers Community Foundation has been presented with two national awards this month.
The first is to certify that the Community Foundation is eligible to participate in the Walking For Health scheme, which is supported by both Walk For Life and National England. The next walk will be taking place before Rovers take on Bristol City on 14th August.
The second award is a silver award from the Football League's Environment Trust, presented to the Community Foundation after they met the criteria for the environment theme during the 09/10 season. The Community team achieved this award by encouraging staff to switch off unused electrical items and lights when out of the office and by not wasting paper. The team have been recycling old match day programmes by giving them to the stadium's visitors as a memento of their day and of the Club.
Richard Bailey, Health and Wellbeing manager said:
"It is important that I try to educate all the club staff and fans on all environmental issues. The staff have taken on board everything I have said and put it into action in the workplace. We are delighted to have received both the Walking For Health and the Environment awards."
