Doncaster Rovers are proud to announce an exciting new Soccer Skills Centre for young people with disabilities, which will aim to provide more opportunity than ever for disabled people in the region to play the beautiful game.

Furthering the club's commitment to promoting the game on a wider scale, The Doncaster Rovers Community Foundation have established the centre in order to provide a sport platform for any young male or female with a disability or special educational need.

The centre will provide structured coaching sessions led by our experienced coaching staff as well as plenty of opportunity for competitive meetings between local counterparts from Barnsley DFC and Rotherham DFC.

The centre will also look to give the opportunity for participants to get the chance to play in a competitive league as part of the FA's Ability Counts League, and there will be countless opportunities for small sided games and having fun playing football.

Training sessions have already started and run every Saturday during term time. Players are welcome to just turn up and play at a cost of £1.50. Sessions are delivered by the highly experienced Rovers Community staff, and Rovers Disability Officer, Marie Hepburn hopes to see the Soccer Skills Centre bustling with new talent!

Speaking ahead of the launch Marie said:

"The Skills Centre is an exciting prospect and one we have been looking forward to for a while now."

"Through the programme we hope to see more people than ever engaging with the sport and I think that the skills centre is the perfect way to get more people than ever playing sport in Doncaster."
