New signing Sophie Scargill has said joining the Belles is a dream come true after joining Zoey Shaw's side over the summer.
The 24-year-old right-sided player put pen to paper with the Belles ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, and she is excited to grab the chance to play for one of the most historic clubs in women's football.
"When you think about women's football, you think about Doncaster Rovers Belles, and I can't tell you how much of a dream it is to play for this historic club," she said.
"Ever since I was young, my dream was to play football and I began to realise that I'd need a career as well so then it was my dream then was to play for the same club I worked for, so I cannot tell you how delighted I am.
"My ambition for the season personally is to put myself back out there, I had a year out last season due to injury so now it's about putting myself back out there and doing the best I can for this team, the Belles should be a top-tier team and so the aim for everyone is promotion and that's what I'm here to do."
Scargill joined up with the Belles squad at the start of pre-season and is looking forward to working with her new teammates and manager Zoey Shaw.
"Zoey is great to work with, I'm so inspired to be around her, her training sessions are amazing, and I can't wait to work with her this season," she added.
"Women's football has come a massive way and in general is going really well at the moment, and it would be great to see that translate into the Belles.
"Doncaster Rovers Belles obviously have an amazing history, you look at the big names like Sue Smith who have helped make the Belles name what it is and that's still there, we all want to bring the team back up to where they were before, I'm really excited to get going."
