Andy Butler says he is enjoying every minute as manager of the Belles following his first league win.
Butler got off to the perfect start in the FAWNL Division One Midlands after a 2-0 win over Burton Albion on Sunday, and he says the experience so far has given him a great insight into the women’s game.
“We want to try and promote Doncaster Rovers Belles as it is, it’s a good club with a lot of history so hopefully we can build that back up, it’s a different view being in the dug-out, I couldn’t help edging down the touchline but I really have enjoyed it,” he said.
“It was pleasing to walk in there after the game on Sunday and see them all with smiles on their faces, all we can ask is for them to keep on going and give them that encouragement to carry on what they’ve done here.
“We just have to focus and concentrate on what we’re good at, we just have to keep improving that’s all we can do, I’ve enjoyed these first couple of weeks with the players, and it’s really opened my eyes into women’s football which is good.”
Andy Butler's second league game in charge is on Sunday February 2 when the Belles host Solihull Moors in the FAWNL Division One Midlands, with tickets available from the Club Doncaster Box Office.
