Andy Butler says the squad have been working hard to prepare for the visit of Huddersfield Town in the Sheffield and Hallamshire FA County Cup on Sunday.

The new first-team manager took charge of training for the first time on Thursday alongside Nick Buxton, and Butler says the reaction from the girls was very positive and hopes that can carry on into the weekend.

“We had a good session on Thursday and the girls seemed to enjoy it which was good to see, the reaction has been good and hopefully we can take that into Sunday,” he said.

“It’ll be a tough game coming up, Huddersfield are a good side, but it’s all about what we do, we’ve worked hard on tactics and formations already and trying to implement a style of play.

“We want the fans to come down and watch, we want to build something here and I’m excited, I hope the players are too and we’re all keen to get some good results in the second half of the season.”

Andy Butler takes charge of the Belles for the first time on Sunday January 19 as they host Huddersfield Town in the Sheffield and Hallamshire FA County Cup at Oxford Street, with tickets priced at £3 for adults and £1 for 17 and under.
