Andy Butler was pleased to see the next generation of Belles players in attendance at Sunday’s game with Wolves.
Young girls from the recent RTC under-10 trials were given a free ticket to the game as part of the club’s commitment to providing role models for the next generation of female footballers.
The girls enjoyed the game, walked out with the first team and took part in a half-time penalty shoot-out. After the game, the girls stayed to have pictures taken and get autographs of their first-team heroes.
“It’s brilliant to have some of the young girls down at the game, they’re all having their pictures taken with the first-team players, and hopefully we’ll have a couple of them in the squad in years to come too,” he said.
“If they keep working hard and dedicated to their football, I’m sure they will be too, I’ve told a few of them to score a few more goals then they can come and knock and our door and they never know they might get in the team.”
