The Football Association have confirmed that the FAWNL Division One Midlands fixtures scheduled for the upcoming lockdown period have been suspended.

The Government’s lockdown rules will prevent grassroots football activity, which includes sides in FAWNL and means the Belles will even be prevented from training from Thursday onwards.

This means the home fixtures against Solihull Moors and Wolves, as well as the trip to Burton Albion, will need to be rescheduled. The Belles’ only two scheduled fixtures remaining are the visit of Wem Town on Sunday December 6, and the trip to Sporting Khalsa on Sunday December 13.

An FA statement said: “The FA’s aim is to ensure the 2020/21 season is completed at these levels and will raise with the relevant leagues to provide support and establish appropriate options to do so if required.

“Restarting football at these levels has taken substantial determination and commitment from stakeholders across the game and the FA would like to thank everyone for their vital contributions.

“However health and wellbeing remains the priority so it is extremely important that clubs, players, coaches, match officials, league officials, volunteers, parents, carers and facility providers adhere to the UK Government’s new COVID-19 restrictions during this period.”
