Hannah McWilliams says she is growing in confidence every game after taking her goalscoring tally for the season to four with two goals in the win over Long Eaton United.

She said: “We played as a team and I think it showed, especially in the first 30 minutes and it was good to get two goals. I’m a bit disappointed I had to come off but I can’t help the injury, hopefully I would have got the hat-trick but a win and a clean sheet is all that matters.

“Confidence is something I struggle with, but it’s building every game and Andy & Nick are really good at drilling it into me and the whole team. We’re building every week, and it’s showing during training and games.”

McWilliams is being asked to play more as a winger this season, often rotating with Nadia Khan on either side of three attacking midfielders behind the centre forward.

She added: “Andy’s given me a slightly different role on the wings this season and it’s something I’m learning and improving in every game. It’s something new for me, I’m there to create goals but can hopefully keep scoring too.

“It’s always different with each player as the striker, but you’ve just got to adjust to how they play. So we know Nadia has got so much pace, Jasmine Saxton will run forever and Lily Harrison didn’t stop running. It’s easy with players who work hard and play as a team.”
