Manager Andy Butler has thanked the supporters who travelled to Sutton Coldfield on Sunday to back the Belles.

The travelling fans were again in good voice in the Midlands, and were rewarded as they got to celebrate Jess Andrew’s equaling goal nine minutes into time added on at the end of the match.

Butler said: “It was fantastic. It’s just great to see fans back at games. The girls went over to show their appreciation because we know they have travelled a long way to be at this game. The girls, staff and everyone at the club appreciate it.

“We’ll only achieve something this season if we are all unified, that is the players, staff and supporters.”

The Belles return to Oxford Street on Sunday for their first competitive home fixture since March - and Butler hopes to see plenty of local football supporters backing the girls.

He added: “Let’s get some fans down for the home games as well, starting with Sunday’s match at Rossington. It’s a really family-friendly day out and it’s all set up for social distancing.

“I hope to see some Rovers fans come down, too. You’ll see a team who wants to play the right way, the same way as Rovers.”
