First-team coach Nick Buxton says there has been a smooth transition after he took charge of the first training session since lockdown restrictions ended.

Buxton will oversee training with Andy Butler having been put in charge of Doncaster Rovers until the end of the campaign.

He said: “It’ll be the same going forward. The girls know me so everything can stay relaxed and nothing will change style wise.

“It’s a chance for the girls to show me what they can do, and maybe look at a few other girls who can add to the group.”

Buxton took charge of training on Tuesday night as the girls were able to train together for the first time since December.

He added: “It was good to be back and see the girls with smiles on their faces - with lockdown easing it’s good for everyone being able to get out and active again

“The girls have had a fitness programme to work to knowing they were going to come back at some point and they’ve come back in decent shape. As we got going they got better on the ball and it was a good first session back.”
