Charlotte Dinsdale revealed that her goal in Sunday's win over Stockport County came after listening to the advice of coach Nick Buxton.

Dinsdale's header from a corner was her first goal for the club after joining last summer.

She said: "I have been listening to Nick about coming in from the back at set-pieces and just watching the flight of the ball all the way.

"I got myself in the path and in the right place at the right time to direct the ball to the far side of the goal.

"Even though it's a friendly rather than a competitive game it's always nice to get a goal as a defender and get yourself on the scoresheet."

Sunday's 3-2 victory came on the back of a 7-1 win over Leeds United's Development side the previous weekend.

Dinsdale added: "Both were really different games, and this was a good challenge for us. They were really attacking minded and we had to be switched on from the start.

"They were a lot more experienced than Leeds. They knew their formation and what they were doing and we had to match their levels. They were physical and quick up top, so it was a really good test for us."

"We've had a few trialists come in and do well, we've all got some minutes under the belt and it'll hopefully give us something to build on when it comes round to pre-season properly.
