Andy Butler was delighted with the defensive performance against Sheffield FC on Thursday night, picking up a 1-0 win at the Home of Football Stadium.
Jasmine Saxton’s second half goal was the difference as they secured a second pre-season victory.
Butler said: “I said to the girls before the game that the non-negotiable is hard work, you have to have that all the times.
“I thought the goal was excellent, the composure from the keeper to play it out, the centre half to play it into space was very good.”
The season is now just one week away, and the focus is on an important final match of the campaign a fixture against Leeds United for the Julie Chipchase memorial where both clubs will pay their respects for someone who played such a huge part in both clubs and women’s football.
Butler added: “It’s a fantastic tribute for both clubs to come together and celebrate her life.
"We are mourning of course but we need to celebrate her life. She had a fantastic impact in women’s football, it’s great for the clubs to get together to do this.
“There are some former Belles players playing so it will be good to get the former Belles down with the current squad.”
