The Doncaster Rovers training centre will be launching girls sessions in September 2021 in conjunction with the Belles.

The training centre will be providing high level coaching for aspiring footballers from U7-U17 (school age groups Year 2-Year 5).  This development comes as Club Doncaster set the groundwork to ensure young female footballers in Doncaster receive the same opportunities as their male counterparts.

Ahead of the launch, the training centre are hosting a free discovery session on August 20 which is available to girls who will be in school year age groups 2-5 in September.

The session will take place at the Club Doncaster Academy pitches (situated next to the Keepmoat Stadium) from 5pm-6pm.

Every attendee will receive a free ticket to the Belles first home match of the 2021/22 season against Sporting Khalsa on August 22 (2pm kick-off at Oxford Street).

The introduction of the Belles Training Centre sessions follow the introduction of improvements to the regional talent centre, the introduction of a Belles development squad and the confirmation that girls from the Club Doncaster Sports College will represent the Belles in the CEFA League this season.

Belles chief executive Russ Green said: “We are fully behind the new set up at the Belles. It provides high quality training for girls in Doncaster and showcases the start of a clear pathway which leads to the RTC and eventually the first team.”

Belles manager Andy Butler added: “I am fortunate enough to have been part of the initial discussion around the new training centre, and I am confident that the girls attending will improve their skills and grow in confidence.”
