Manager Andy Butler has been pleased with the application and fitness levels of the players after they returned for pre-season training.
The first-team are now a week into preparations for the 2021/22 campaign, with the squad training at Cantley Park.
Butler said: “The players have worked really hard, have come back hungry and eager to get fit for the new season - I have been really impressed with them.
“They are all bubbly, looking fit and ready to go. They will work hard but everything they’ll do is with a football. We want to be the best technical team in the league and the only way you do that is with the football so we’ll do as much work with the ball as possible, and when we don’t have it we’ll work even harder to get it back.”
Butler is hoping for his first full season as manager, having taken charge during a 2019/20 campaign which was expunged because of the coronavirus pandemic then seeing last year’s league halted early for similar reasons.
The consistency of players and approach from staff means he is happy with the squad he expects to take into the upcoming campaign.
He added: “We’ve some girls who have been here for a few seasons now and know what we’re all about, they’ll push the good young players we’ve got coming through. We’ve got some good players coming through and a few new faces coming into the squad. We’ll have a full quota of players who want to be here and want to do well for Doncaster Belles.
“It’s important they all stick together and push each other through, it’s going to be a long season but it’s going to be an enjoyable one.”
