Belles chief executive Russ Green has congratulated Andy Butler after he was named Doncaster Rovers manager until the end of the season.
Russ said: "Everyone connected with the Belles wishes Andy Butler well following his appointment as Doncaster Rovers manager until the end of the season. While events moved quickly, it is no surprise the qualities he has shown in charge of the Belles meant he was considered a natural choice to step in at Rovers.
"Andy took charge of the Belles when we were second bottom of the table last season, and the fact we are second now shows the impact he made - he brought a real sense of professionalism, unity and optimism to the club which really helped drive us on and off the pitch.
"He’ll have to take a step back from the Belles as it’s impossible to combine the demands of both no matter how much we know he’d love to. Rest assured that we have plans in place from a coaching viewpoint if we are able to resume the league season again.
"The messages Andy and I received from players on Monday after the news was confirmed showed how much he meant to the players. We know he will smash it as Rovers boss and every one of the players and staff will be right behind the lads.
"Here at the Belles we continue to wait on a decision as to whether we are allowed to resume our league campaign. Our position remains that we want to complete as much of the season as required to allow promotion and relegation, even if that uses a PPG formula to decide final standings.
"I’d like to thank everyone who has purchased a ticket for the Belles 10 For 10 Draw which provides some great prizes as well as vital funds to help the club at a time when we have had pretty much all our income streams switched off. We will pick the winners at the end of the month and every ticket purchased will help us get going again as soon as we get the green light."
