Alexis Powell joins Belles regional talent centre after a successful period in the Belles Training Centre.
Powell is the first player to make the switch from the Training Centre to the RTC after being identified as having elite potential.
The Training Centre launched the bespoke girls’ sessions at the start of the season with members of the Belles first team in attendance and head of operations, Jan Budtz, is delighted with how things are going.
He said: “The Training Centre looks to provide a place for promising young footballers to receive extra training with the best coaches in the borough, while also offering opportunities for all young girls to play football.
“We see ourselves as a potential pathway to the Belles and Alexis has proved that by making the switch to the RTC group.”
RTC club manager Chantelle Haigh added: “The RTC is going from strength to strength and with the introduction of girls sessions at the Training Centre, we now have a clear pathway from grassroots football to our senior team.
“Alexis has settled in really well and we’re delighted to have her with us. We hope she’s the first of many young players from across the borough that are able to find their way to Doncaster Rovers Belles via the Training Centre.”
