Belles first team coach Nick Buxton was delighted with the performance as the Belles saw off Leek Town 5-0 on Sunday to move within touching distance of the league leaders.

Buxton said: “First half we looked excellent. We really got at them and moved the ball really well.

"It was 4-0 at half time and it could have been more.

“The second goal was superb - the movement from the girls was exceptional and it was a terrific finish at the end.

"We're really proud - it was a wonderful team display."

Buxton also praised new signing Lindsey Tugby who assisted two of the five goals for the Belles.

He added: “Lindsey has come in and brought in something totally different. She is good on the ball -  energetic and her vision is top class. She has been a great signing for us."

The Belles have taken 16 points from a possible 21 so far this season but there is a belief within the sqaud that there is more to come.

He said: “We want to score more goals and did that on Sunday.

“Anyone can beat anyone in this league so it’s down to us now to kick on and take the confidence forward to our next game”.

Belles will travel to Wem Town on Sunday for the rearranged FAWNL Division One Midlands game.
