Charlotte Dinsdale registered her second goal in as many games when she headed Belles’ second in a 2-0 victory over Wem Town Ladies in FAW National League Midlands Division One.

It was a relatively even game, but Belles showed real resilience to keep their opponents out.

“First and foremost, we got another win and clean sheet and it’s another three points on the board to progress us in the league,” Dinsdale said.

“We probably made harder work of it than we needed to, but they really took it to us. The pitch was a little bit sticky but we dug it and got the result.

“It was a bit of a journey so I’m just really proud of the girls for digging in until the end and getting the result.”

The defender said she was pleased to get on the scoresheet but is hungry for more.

“It’s another header from another corner. We’ve got a tall team so we should be doing better from corners and set pieces so I’m really pleased to be on the scoresheet again and from another corner from Tuggers (Lindsey Tugby),” she added.

“I was really pleased to be able to contribute with a goal. We were 1-0 up for a long time and I felt like we needed a second to settle the game down a little bit.

“The goal came at a good time, and it just helped us ease out the rest of the game and get the three points which is crucial at this stage of the season."
