Goals from Jess Andrew, Jasmine Saxton and Nadia Khan, saw the Belles book their place in the first round of the Vitality FA Cup with a 3-0 win against Nottingham Trent University

Andy Butler made one change to the side that saw off Wem Town last week handing Niamh Doody her first start since arriving from Sheffield United earlier in the week.

The Belles took the lead on the seventh minute. Great build up play, saw Izzy Trevillion play a delighful pass to Khan who beat her defender for pace and dug out a cross. The finish was miscued by Saxton, but Andrew followed in for a neat finish.

The Belles high press made things difficult for Trent to play out from the back and the home side were winning the ball back in good areas. The second goal came as Doody won the ball back and threaded a lovely ball to Lindsey Tugby who found Saxton. The No.9 who beat the defender and slotted home for her fifth goal in all competitions.

Two became three in a space of 60 seconds. A wonderful counter attack from the Belles released Khan who beat the defender for pace to find herself one on one with the keeper. She coolly side footed it past the keeper to give the Belles a 3-0 lead just after the quarter-of-an-hour mark.

The game quieted down in the second half with the Belles comfortable in possession not needing to go into top gear.

The best chance fell to Andrew. With no Trent player closing her down, she unleashed a shot from 25 yards out which beat the keeper, but the inside of the post denied a fourth goal for the Belles.

The win sees the Belles now six games unbeaten in all competitions, with Boldmere St Michaels up next.
