Goals from Jasmine Saxton, Jess Price and Nadia Khan saw the Belles win 3-2 in an entertaining game at The Oval.

Andy Butler made one change to the side that last played over a week ago. Hannah McWilliams was brought in for Nadia Khan and was straight into the action. Playing a lovely through ball to Saxton who saw her shot saved by the Bedworth Keeper.

The two would link up again on 15 minutes, again McWilliams causing Bedworth problems. She found Saxton who rounded the keeper for a neat finish.

Saxton had a hand in the second goal, Jess Andrews picking the ball from deep, she found Saxton who rounded the keeper, however unselfishly found Jess Price to tap home from close range.

Bedworth pulled one back through Jodi Hunter, a cross from the left-hand side started a scramble for the ball, eventually the ball found Hunter who tapped home.

The Belles started much brighter than the hosts in the second half with a brilliant chance for Saxton. Price found space down the left-hand side and crossed it low and Saxton was inches away from making it 3-1.

The introduction of Khan in the second half worked wonders for Butler after a break in play for an injury to the Bedworth keeper. Saxton and Bell combined well down the right channel, Saxton’s cross caused the defender and substitute keeper problems, as it bounced kindly for Khan to tap it in.

Although the hosts made it a nervy finish with five minutes to go a corner from Hunter found Lydia Hackney, who headed it past Sharpe in the goal to pull one back.

Butler’s side held on for the three points to take back to South Yorkshire, with Loughborough Lightning to come next for the Belles in the cup.
