Goals from Izzy Trevillion, Jasmine Saxton and Lily Wishart saw the Belles run out comfortable 3-0 win against Leafield Athletic in the FA WNL Division one Midlands
Andy Butler made two changes to the side that faced Loughborough Lightening in the cup two weeks before. Skipper Jess Andrew returned to side to replace the injured Sophie Scargill and Nadia Khan replaced Jess Price in the starting XI.
Khan was straight into the action on 15 minutes, great play to hold off the defender but her shot was just wide of the right-hand post.
The Belles took the lead five minutes before half-time, a cross by Sophie Bell found Izzy Trevillion whose volley from 20 yards caused the keeper problems. She initially got a hand to it, but the power was too much, and she tipped it into her own net.
Belles doubled their lead just before half time - great feet from Saxton twisting and turning, and then unleashing a shot from 25 yards into the top left-hand corner. Her second goal of the season.
Trevillion came close to her second after the restart. It was lovely work to beat her defender for pace, but her shot was well saved by the keeper.
Leafield’s best chance came in the second half through substitute Sam Baker, her pace got her away from Andrew but Ellie Sharpe was there to stop the shot.
The Belles’s left-hand side was causing problems to Leafield, the back three with the wing-backs were giving plenty of attacking options for the Belles.
Andy Butler’s side wrapped things up in added time through substitute Wishart who replaced Trevillion. She beat her defender, and her cross looped over the keeper’s head into the bottom right hand corner for her first goal of the season as well.
