Official superfan Kyle Thornton received manager Andy Butler’s signed training shirt last month to complete the superfan package he purchased in the 2020 Club Doncaster Auction.

The Auction gave fans the opportunity to bid on unique, money-can’t-buy prizes and events as well as supporting the club through unprecedented difficulties.

As we begin to come out the other side of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kyle is finally able to see the items of the superfan package realised and got to meet manager Andy Butler and club captain Sophie Scargill for the handover of the signed top.

“I bought the package as a birthday idea, but it was also a good way to help the club at the start of the pandemic,” said Kyle.

“It’s been really tough times recently and anything we can do to make sure the girls have a place to play football and that the Belles survive we’ll do.”

Kyle is a keen collector of Belles memorabilia and already has a place picked out for his new shirt.

“I call it the wall of legends where all the t-shirts and stuff I’ve got go,” he added.

“This is brilliant, it’s a brilliant addition.”

The final part of the package was for Kyle to have an official superfan profile completed on the club’s official website.

“That’s pretty good actually,” Kyle laughed.

“I’ve shown the profile to everyone at work, and I’ve linked it to my Twitter account. I’ve been trying to use it to get Twitter verified but they’re not having it.”
