Belles return to action on Sunday as they make the short trip to Kimberworth to face Millmoor Junior Ladies FC in the re-arranged Third Round tie of the Sheffield and Hallamshire County Cup.
Nick Buxton’s side will be looking to start the new year on a positive note following a five-week break that included the festive period and two postponed games in December.
In the last round of the County Cup, goal braces from Nadia Khan, Leah Hardy and Shannon Durkin helped Belles through to the Third Round with a comfortable six-nil beating of Rotherham United Ladies.
This Sunday's opponents Millmoor Juniors Ladies play their football at Grange Park, Kimberworth, and are members of the North East Regional Womens' League, Southern Division, which is two leagues (tier 6) below the Belles.
The Ladies currently sit third in the league on sixteen points after eight games, with five wins, one draw and two defeats, and are unbeaten in three games. Their most recent result was a 0-0 draw against Sheffield United Community Foundation LFC, and to reach this stage of the County Cup, they beat AFC Norton Woodseats 8-1 in the First Round and received a bye in the Second Round.
Belles have won the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Cup on seven occasions, the last time being in the 2009-10 season, and a win on Sunday will see them into the last eight for the second successive season.
The game on Sunday 8th kicks off at 1pm.
