Belles manager Andy Butler was pleased with the performance as he saw his side take three points against Sporting Khalsa last Sunday.

It was a close game but Belles were clinical with their chances and defended admirably to register a healthy scoreline.

Butler said: “We scored some really good goals. There was a resilience in the way the players performed which was great to see.

“Defensively, the team was very good and got another clean sheet.

"To get the fourth goal was the icing on the cake. There was nothing more I could ask for."

Butler also praised the substitutes who played a big part after being introduced in the second half.

He added: “We have people that can come off the bench and have an impact. I said to the players it’s the whole squad, not just the starting XI.

“As long as they keep pushing each other and keep working hard that will be key. I thought the players' attitude and desire to win the game was good."

Belles head to promotion rivals Lincoln City on Thursday evening in a "six-pointer".

He said: “We’ll focus on them and see what there’ll about. It will be a tough game and we fully expect Lincoln to be right at it.

“We’ll keep pushing each other, doing the basics right, and keep learning from each game. However, it’s certainly a game I'm looking forward to."
