Belles keeper Ellie Sharpe stressed that she feels there is more to come from the team following a 1-0 victory against Wem Town last Sunday.

Despite the narrow scoreline, Sharpe had little to do in the match but made the important save when called upon to ensure the three points. The same could not be not be said of visiting shot-stopper and Sharpe was full of praise for her opposite number.

Sharpe said: "Their goalkeeper was their superstar. She definitely kept them in it.

“There's a tough battle ahead in the league.

"To stay at the top, we need to compete, maintain a high level and maintain the right attitude going forward. If we do that, there's no reason why we can't stay there."

Leek Town are the next oppontents for the Belles and Sharpe predicts another difficult challenge ahead.

She added: “I’m told that Leek have got a good home record so we’ve got to go into that game all guns blazing, because if we don’t it could be a tough battle.

“We need to stick together as a team and keep moving forward and picking up points."
