Belles make the short trip to the Roundwood Sports Complex on Sunday to take on Rotherham United Women in the 2nd Round of the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Cup.

Following the home defeat to Huddersfield Town in the Women's FA Cup last weekend, manager Nick Buxton will be keen to see a response from his side going into the game.

Nick said:"It's good to play in the County Cup and we want to do really well in the competition. If we can put on a good performance against Rotherham we can then hopefully take that back into the league games that follow. We've not had silverware at the club for sometime - we got to the quarter-finals last year against Huddersfield and it's a tough ask to get to the Final, but naturally we want to go as far as we can and hopefully win it.

Opponents Rotherham United Women play their football in the East Midlands Regional League Premier, one tier level below the Belles. The Millers currently sit at the bottom of the division, having played five games, of which they have drawn one and lost four, but are unbeaten in three including the recent 3-3 draw away to league leaders Notts County and the win over Barnsley Women Reserves in the previous round of the County Cup.

Nick continued:"Rotherham look like they are improving after a slow start, so they will be up for it - we will be mindful of that and need to be on our top game too. With Rotherham Uinited men not playing due to the World Cup break, they are hoping that they will get more supporters down and will want to put on a show.

"We had some late withdrawals against Huddersfield last week so hopefully with those players and others coming back from injury, plus the signing of Leah Hardy this week, we should have a full squad to choose from on Sunday.

Belles have won the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Cup on seven occasions, the last time being in the 2009-10 season when they beat the then Rotherham United Ladies 3-0 in the Final, which was Belles' eighth County Cup Final appearance on the trot. The Millers went on to win the Cup the following season in 2010-11, but the competition has been dominated by Sheffield FC, Barnsley Women and Huddersfield Town Women ever since.

The game on Sunday 20th kicks off at 1pm.
