The Belles can confirm the departure of homegrown midfielder Olivia Harness to higher league Huddersfield Town.

Versatile Olivia first joined the Belles as a 13-year-old and progressed through to the U16s, winning the FA Youth Plate in 2016. She left for Sheffield FC in the FAWNL Premier Division, where she returns with Huddersfield.

She rejoined the Belles last summer and was a key player through the 2022/23 season.

“The decision to move clubs hasn’t been an easy one, due to the great run we had as a team last season and the amazing group of girls I had the pleasure of playing alongside,” Olivia said. “As well as the cracking fan base who supported and fired us on at every game.

“I wish them all the best of luck for this season. #onceabellealwaysabelle.”

While we are sad to see Olivia leave the club, we are happy and proud to see her advance her career and we wish her the very best for the future.

Belles RTC technical director Amanda Greenslade said: “As a club we are committed to producing players for the highest level of the female game and we always celebrate when we achieve that goal.

“Olivia combines her strong technical ability with a great understanding of the game and most importantly, she is a fantastic person who would be welcome back to the Belles any time in the future.”
