The Belles squad will have access to state-of-the-art equipment and treatment to ensure they are in top condition this season following the opening of the new High Performance Centre at the Eco-Power Stadium.
The facility has been created in a partnership between Club Doncaster Sports College and University Campus Doncaster and boasts a vast array of specialist equipment.
Sports science pupils can gain valuable experience working with state-of-the-art equipment, while professional and amateur athletes and the public alike have access to treatments not readily available.
Players from Doncaster Rovers recently utilised the facility for post-match recovery with Game Ready Cryotheraphy, massages and Normatec compression gear - while acting as ideal guinea pigs for demonstrations for opening day visitors.
Rovers assistant manager Cliff Byrne was another visitor at the grand opening of the High Performance Centre and was impressed with the facilities the squad will be able to utilise.
“It’s got everything that we would need in terms of preparation and maintenance and recovery of our players and it’s right on our doorstep,” he said.
“It’s really exciting to get an insight to see what goes on here at the centre and the learning environment for the students and really how we could utilise the whole space.”
The facility was stocked after consultation with strength and conditioning coaches and physios to ensure pupils graduate with the best possible experience in the sector.
Sports College principal Adi Turnpenny said: “It was a great event to launch the High Performance Centre and it is a further sign of the fantastic partnership between Club Doncaster Sports College and DNGroup.
“The Centre will be a real asset to our students who will work with the Doncaster sporting community at all levels as part of their degree programmes.
“Studying here at the Eco-Power Stadium allows our students to learn in a live sporting environment that can only benefit their educational experience.”
Members of the public are able to access a variety of treatments throughout the week, to further enable students to gain valuable work experience.
