The Belles return to the Iqbal Poultry Stadium for the first time in 2024 this Sunday (January 14) as they welcome Stockport County in National League Division One North action.

Ciaran Toner’s side will be looking to bounce back from defeat at the first time of asking after last weekend's trip to Leeds United ended in a 4-2 loss.

Izzy Gigg and Jasmine Saxton put the Belles ahead at the break in that one, but the Whites came from behind in the second half to take all three points.

This weekend’s visitors currently sit fifth on the league table having picked up 18 points from 11 games in comparison to the Belles’ 10 from 10 in ninth place.

County ended 2023 with four straight victories and scored 11 goals in process but returned for the new year with a home loss against Durham Cestria last weekend.

The Hatters also enjoyed a run in the FA Cup prior to Christmas having recorded impressive 6-1 and 3-0 wins over Guisborough Town and York Railway Institute respectively but fell to a narrow 1-0 loss against third tier Stoke City in the second round proper.

The Belles will be looking to go one better than the first meeting between the sides after they shared the points in a 2-2 draw in Stockport.

Jasmine Saxton will be looking to hit the double figures on home soil this weekend after her strike at Leeds last time out took her to nine goals for the season.

Stockport’s top scorer, Jessica Gillin sits just two goals behind Saxton with seven and sits seventh in the division’s goalscoring charts.

If you are wishing to see the Belles on home soil for the first time in 2024, there’s still time to secure your place with tickets priced at £4 for adults, £3 for 14-17-year-olds and £1 for under 13s. To purchase, please click HERE.
