The Belles return to National League Division One North action this Sunday [January 28] and hit the road as they travel to Chorley looking for a first league double.

Ciaran Toner’s side will be looking to emulate their Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup fortunes of last weekend when the Belles ran out 4-0 winners over Dronfield Town on the Eco-Power Stadium 3G.

The goal scorers from the Belles last league match kept up their form in front of goal in that one as Phoebe Sneddon opened the scoring before Jasmine Saxton completed a second hat-trick of the season.

The Belles reward for that victory is a semi-final at Barnsley Women’s Reserves.

The first meeting between the two sides resulted in a 2-1 victory for the Belles just last month when Saxton scored again after a stunning Jess Tugby-Andrew freekick and they’ll be looking for the same for a first league win of 2024.

This weekend’s hosts sit just one point and one place above the Belles on the league table having now played an equal amount of games.

Chorley’s three league wins in 11 see the Magpies sit seventh with a total of 12 points and averaging just the one goal scored a game.

Since a stunning FA Cup run that ended with defeat to Northern Premier side Newcastle United, Chorley have struggled for form and are winless in four with just one point from those games – losing against the Belles, Norton & Stockton Ancients and Durham Cestria.

Both sides will be looking to rejuvenate league form though with the Belles also losing at Leeds United before more recently earning a last-gasp draw against Stockport County.

If you are wishing to back the Belles on the road, the address for the fixture is: Bainscough Park, Coppull, PR7 5EJ with kick-off at 2pm.

If you can’t make it this weekend, the Belles are back on home soil on Sunday, February 11 as they welcome Norton & Stockton Ancients to the Iqbal Poultry Stadium. Tickets are priced at £4 for adults, £3 for 14-17-year-olds and £1 for under 13s. To purchase, please click HERE.
