Belles manager Ciaran Toner was pleased with his squad's performance after they notched another four goals in victory at Chorley.

Goals from Phoebe Sneddon, Lindsey Tugby-Andrew and a brace from Jasmine Saxton confirmed a league double over Chorley in the FAWNL Division One North.

After a good start from the hosts it wasn't long before the Belles took control of the game.

“It was a really good result as you say," Toner said. "I said to the girls after, I still think there’s more and I know they’re probably going to hate me for saying it but I just think there’s so much more in there.

"I think it was a difficult start and Chorley started a little better than we did and I thought that once we got into a rhythm  we showed some quality in good moments.

"We think our efficiency levels need to be a little bit better, we spoke at half time about having a lot more composure in possession and then we gave them a goal in the first-half because we were a bit rash in our decision making.

"Once we got going in the second half, we upped our efficiency levels and I just felt you know, it was a very comfortable second half and we just kicked on and we could have probably scored more, should have scored more.”

Saxton added another brace to her tally securing her 15th and 16th goals of the season, but Toner was keen to share the praise across the entire squad.

He added: “I said after the game, it's a squad performance. We utilised all of our outfield players and the bench when we needed to. Unfortunately, Jess Hart came off injured and I’m gutted for her so we’ll assess that. But it’s about the team and people being able to come in and do the job.

"Yes it’s nice that Jasmine got a couple of goals, should have had a few more. But in terms of performance throughout, the team was outstanding. I felt we had really key moments of the game.”

With the Belles moving up the league table and progressing in the cup last time out, the manager spoke about confidence in the group.

"We want to install that confidence into the girls. I feel like since I’ve come in, the girls' confidence levels have really grown on them. It’s always nice to get wins and we’ll win games and that breeds confidence.

"In terms of our approach to the whole performance to the game overall, I think that has been consistent generally since I’ve come in or certainly from the early stages of coming in but we want to kick on and win as many games as we possibly can.”
