Chaplain’s Farewell to the Club

1 August 2012

Doncaster Rovers Football Club’s chaplain of the last five years, Reverend Stephen Clark, is sadly departing to ‘pastures new’ before the commencement of the 2012/13 season. Steve, as he has fondly been known by players, staff and supporters, is to face a new challenge in his ministerial duties in Leicester, where he will be taking on new parochial duties within a few days time.

He joined the club as chaplain in 2007 from his parish base at Doncaster Priory Methodist Church in the centre of Doncaster. In addition to visiting the players at the training ground, and the staff at the Rovers’ main offices on a weekly basis, Steve always made himself available also to Rovers’ supporters and their families whenever needed.

Everyone at Doncaster Rovers Football Club wishes Steve all the very best for the future, and thanks him for his wonderful ministry to the football club.

As ‘one door closes, another opens’, and the club is delighted to welcome as our new chaplain Reverend Jim McGhee, pictured alongside Steve who is being presented with a parting memento by Gavin Baldwin, Chief Executive of Doncaster Rovers.
