Hand Delivered Season Tickets

22 August 2012

As part of the prize draws conducted through the Ultimate Season Ticket Package Doncaster Rovers player, David Cotterill along with members of Doncaster Rovers staff visited two lucky fans at their homes to hand deliver their season ticket and stop by for a chat. As an added extra, we also gave both of our winners a signed Rovers shirt.

Our first visit was to Mr David Hanks of Warmsworth who has been a Rovers supporter since 1963 and a season ticket holder for the last 24 years.  David is looking forward to the new season and was keen to show his support.

“Although some people are a bit dismayed about certain players going, I think it’s a welcome change that is needed and I’m looking forward to Tuesday night and hoping for our second League win.”

David was very impressed with Cotterill’s super goal away at Walsall on Saturday and was keen to quiz Cotterill about how he is settling in. Likewise Cotterill was eager to familiarise himself with the views on all things Rovers from a fans perspective.

David is not only a dedicated Season ticket holder but also an Alliance member and plays the Rovers lottery and was keen to express his praise for the youth team, particularly James Husband and Liam Wakefield.

Our second visit was to another long standing supporter, season ticket holder and Alliance member, Mr Wilf Pugh of Sprotborough. Wilf welcomed David Cotterill into his home where he was greeted by two very excited children, Conner & Ellie, Wilf’s grandchildren.

Conner, a budding footballer and Ellie a keen gymnast and footballer were both eager for tips from a professional athlete.

Wilf spoke to Cotterill about the ups and downs of being a Rover fan over the years;

“Over the past few years, I’ve seen Rovers play some of the best football they have ever played and I’m looking forward to the new season.

“There are times when i never imagined that we would ever see the Championship but now I’m looking forward to getting back into that League.”

Wilf was also full of praise for David Cotterill and thinks he has got off to a great start.

Doncaster Rovers would like to thank David and Wilf for their long standing support and for making us feel so welcome in their homes.
