Stadium Moves A Step Closer

1 August 2012

Doncaster Rovers fans today received some great news as the Club took a big step towards taking over the management of the stadium.

The Council Cabinet ratified the proposal that will see the Keepmoat Stadium managed by Doncaster Rovers, and the Club is just waiting for the final legal paperwork to be completed.

Rovers plan to make the game against York City in the Capital One Cup a big celebration party as they officially re-open the stadium.

Gavin Baldwin, Rovers Chief Executive said: "This is another step forward for us and we are really excited by today's news which will see Doncaster Rovers take over the running of the Keepmoat Stadium.

"We will continue to work with the legal teams to progress towards a transfer date.

"This is a community stadium and Doncaster Rovers are keen to bring the stadium back to the residents, our fans and the business community in order to drive social and economic benefits for all those who use and are involved in this fantastic venue.

"Our plans include an opening party at our cup game against York City on August 11, which will see a mass celebration at the stadium."

We now need every fan to come along and show support. Make sure you are part of the club's big celebration by buying your tickets now and showing your support!  Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and concessions and £5 for children aged 16 and under and are available on 01302 762576.
