Like the first day back at school; the atmosphere was high at the first training session of the season ready before the Cleethorpes Town friendly match on the 14th of July.
As the players sat and discussed their summer breaks and the up and coming work, they also got a chance to see the newly redecorated Cantley Park Training Ground.
The day also marked David Syers and David Cotterill's first training session, with their new teammates, since signing with Doncaster Rovers.
In the typical light hearted manner often witnessed at the Cantley Park, Manager Dean Saunders joked," I thought some Premier League players might have shown up when they found out we were training but the rain must have put them off"
This is the first opportunity for manager Dean Saunders to prepare his players during pre-season, after joining part way through last term.
Heavy rain did not stop the players getting back to business starting off with laps around the training ground pitch led by fitness coach Mal Purchase.
The rain eased up a little as the team broke off in to groups practice their skills under the watchful eye of Dean and the coaching staff.
The rain had done nothing to dampen the sprits of the team as the came in for lunch with Kyle Bennett and Brian Stock's extreme competitiveness on the pool table being just one of the indoor activities taking place. After the short break for lunch Dean led the boys out for the second session of the day!!
