Praise For Respectful Rovers Supporters

28 September 2012

Doncaster Rovers would like to share a letter which was received by the club today to show the appreciation for the respect our supporters showed during the minute silence at Carrow Road on Wednesday.

Norwich City learned of John Bond's death on the day of the game and a minute silence was observed in his memory.

The following letter was received to praise and thank Rovers supporters for their participation.

‘Hello as a Norwich City supporter I was at the match on Wednesday evening with Doncaster as the visitors in the Capital One Cup. What I witnessed that evening was something special, and just thought I would say thank you on behalf of myself Norwich City and Norwich City fans.

On Wednesday John Bond, who was a great character at Norwich City, died and a minutes silence was observed before the game. I would like to say that the Doncaster Rovers fans who attended were a credit to themselves, their supporters, their club and also their town.

The minutes silence was impeccable and you could hear a pin drop.

I just wanted to let Doncaster Rovers Football Club know that they were a credit to your club

Thank you
Mr.S.J.Widdowson
Norwich City supporter’
