Dean Saunders moves his troops a little further south from Norwich and on to London for tomorrow’s match with Leyton Orient.

Due to Wednesday’s League Cup visit to Carrow Road – where Alexander Tettey’s fine strike saw the hosts prosper - the Welshman has taken the opportunity to take an extended break and minimise travelling time.

The trip to Brisbane Road will rekindle both negative and positive memories for Rovers fans of a certain age that saw the south Yorkshiremen once humbled 8-0 in December 1997, but exorcise those demons six years later with a 3-1 victory in front of a sunburned bank of 3,000 away fans.

With goals from Gregg Blundell and Leo Fortune-West, Rovers rubber stamped their first game back in the Football League with a red hot performance which was matched only by the intense August heat – which registered towards 40°C!

To date, that is still Rovers’ only ever victory on Orient soil, though following a solid run of form in the league, few would back against the visitors taking something away with them.

Saunders rotated his squad for the match up against the Canaries and can take positives from making a Premier League side sweat against a side which featured Shelton Martis, James Husband, James Harper, Robbie Blake and Iain Hume.

 - just two places behind Rovers - in the League 1 table having recovered from a poor start to the season by winning important games against highly fancied Swindon and cross city rivals Brentford. thRussell Slade’s O’s sit 14

Former Rover Anthony Griffith will not be available for selection following his sending off in the draw with Crewe Alexandra.

Peter Kitchen, Sean Thornton, JJ Melligan and Sam Oji are just a selection of players to have featured for both clubs.

Head to head in London: Orient 10 wins, Rovers 1 win, Draws 3.
