Rovers Announce DCLT Gym Partnership

A Leisure Trust, established to improve Doncaster’s health and fitness offering, is celebrating a successful first year by making good on its plans to expand.

Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust (DCLT), who currently manage 13 venues across the borough, have just got even healthier thanks to a new venue joining the team. 
 
DCLT has announced a deal with Doncaster Rovers Football Club, which will see them manage the health studio based at the Keepmoat Stadium.
 
Michael Hart, Chief Executive of Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust said: “We are delighted that our partnership with Doncaster Rovers has enabled us to reach an agreement over the management of the gym at the stadium.
 
“It is a fantastic facility with great equipment and classes. We will be working with the team to bring the gym under the DCLT banner. Being part of the leisure trust will be beneficial to the gym and its members as the expertise our team holds keeps our offering at the forefront of the industry.”
 
Doncaster Rovers took over the management of the Keepmoat Stadium on September 1 this year and have already made announcements about changes to the catering and cleaning contracts for the venue.
 
Rovers also launched their Business Promise which was introduced to provide businesses with support and platform to promote their services as well as to generate new business partnerships. 
 
Chief Executive, Gavin Baldwin, said: “We see this as the perfect fit for the gym facilities at the stadium. It fits in perfectly with our business pledge to buy and procure locally and we want to work with partners to ensure that visitors to the stadium have the best possible experience whether they come to us for football, events, other sporting activities or to keep fit. 
 
“Bringing in experts to ensure that this happens was a strategic decision backed by the board and we are confident that customers will see improvements from day one.
“DCLT has a fantastic reputation for delivering the best for its customers and we look forward to working with Michael and his team to bring this ethos to the stadium.”
 
Membership packages which will enable member of the stadium gym to use other DCLT sites, which will be beneficial, especially during match time, will be announced in the coming weeks.
