As the Rovers 1st team contested the final league game of the season, players from the Rovers Youth Team and Academy took to the pitch to allow supporter to show their appreciation for their efforts.

Teams ranging from the U9s all the way up to the U18s (youth team), along with their team coaches, paraded around the pitch during the half time interval.

Before the teams left the field of play the winner of the Academy Player of the Year was announced.

Prolific forward Jack McKay was the recipient of the accolade for his fantastic season for the U16s and was presented with his trophy by Head of Youth Paul Wilson.

Paul Wilson said: “Jack has had a fantastic season for the U16s, he’s improved significantly since this time last year and due to his form he has been rewarded with a place in the Youth Team next season.

“Scoring 26 goals a season is a fantastic achievement but to do it at such a young age just shows his qualities.

“He has a fantastic hunger to learn and has a very bright future ahead of him at Doncaster Rovers”.
