International Round Up

15 August 2013

Dean Furman, Luke McCullough and Evan Finnegan have all been away on International Duty this past week.

Furman faced Nigeria at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in his native South Africa yesterday evening. Bafana Bafana were beaten 2-0 on the night, however Dean managed to get the whole ninety minutes under his belt after a free weekend due to Wigan Athletic’s involvement in the FA Community Shield.

Luke McCullough represented the Northern Ireland U21’s as they faced Denmark at Stangmore Park yesterday afternoon. Denmark ran out 4-1 victors in the friendly game despite Northern Ireland’s best efforts.

Even Finnegan played the full ninety minutes as the Republic of Ireland Under-19 team suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss to Norway in the first of two friendly internationals.

Evan has once again been selected to play in this afternoon’s second friendly game against Norway.

All three players should return to the club in time for the game against Blackburn Rovers on Friday evening.
