Dickov: We Can't Get Too Carried Away

2 December 2013

Paul Dickov spoke to Rovers Player ahead of Rovers trip to Birmingham on Tuesday night.

“The players are buzzing today in training after that good win on Saturday and hopefully they can carry that performance over into tomorrow night.

"We can’t get too carried away as we have two tough away games at Birmingham and Bolton coming up but if they show the same level of commitment and discipline off the ball such as knowing when to press and not we will be hard to beat.

“We know that one win can shoot you right up the table and a defeat puts you back down there, so we have to strive to be a bit more consistent in the performances to get results.

"I hope we can find that happy medium so that I’m not after one game saying I am disappointed and the next I’m elated. We can now go down to Birmingham with a lot of belief after picking the three points up against a top QPR side.”

Paul added; “This is a competitive division with tough games every week but as our result and Yeovil’s 3-0 win at Watford show is that there are no easy games. We have to put an even keel on it at the moment to pick up important results when we have to.

"This is a fantastic division to play and managing in. You want to test yourself against big clubs and top players. The players have a fantastic opportunity this season to play at a high level. The pressure of managing is there every day from watching players, managing budgets to planning strategies for matches but you want to test yourself at the highest level."
