Flynn Expecting Open Game

8 February 2013

Brian Flynn told Rovers Player that he was impressed with Saturday’s opponents, Walsall and he is expecting an open game.

Brian has watched Walsall numerous times this season and admitted that the form that they are in doesn’t surprise him considering the forward players they have at their disposal.

“They are a good team and their strength is going forwards and attacking against teams,” he said

“They have Will Grigg who is an International footballer, and Febian Brandy who had an outstanding start to his career at Manchester United.

“I saw him when he went on loan to Swansea and he did well down there so he’s going to be a handful.

“I’ve seen them numerous times this year and have been impressed with the way they play.

“I think it will be an open game; I enjoy them sorts of games because I think we can score goals.

“We are going to make certain our back four and goalkeeper keep things very tight because if we give them an inch they will use it.”

Although Rovers suffered defeat at the hands of Bury last week, Brian remained positive and labelled manner of the loss as a ‘rarity’

“For us to switch off at set plays like we did last week is a rarity.

“There will be no knee jerk reaction to last week in term of team selection.

“It’s not done us much harm in terms of our league position, which is a bonus.

“Teams below us are catching us but I’d rather be where we with teams chasing us than the other way round.

“I don’t think that there will be many changes in the teams up at the top of the league - I think the teams that are there now will be at the end of the season.”
