Husband: We Will Be Back To Our Best

22 February 2013

James Husband spoke to Rovers Player ahead of the visit of Yeovil Town.

After scoring against Crawley Town on Monday night, Husband admitted that he was delighted with his first senior goal for Rovers.

“It was different from what normally happens on the pitch for me,” he said

“I like to score but it’s not something that’s happened a lot this season which is a bit different to what happened in the Youth Team last year – it’s harder to score but it was a delight when I did.”

“Playing left midfield is a bit different from playing at left-back; I’ve done it before I’m just here to do a job for the team I’ll play where ever I’m needed.

“We’ve got the best full-back in the league in Tommy Spurr, in my opinion. I’m learning from him every day so I can’t ask for anymore.

“I get on with Tommy really well so if I need anything I talk to him about it. When we’re on the field and I’m playing left midfield he does talk to me an awful lot which makes my job a bit easier.

Husband is looking for as many wins as possible in the final part of the season after what he described as a ‘blip’.

“The last couple of weeks have been a bit of a blip but it’s still in our hands.  We’ve got 14 games to go now so we’ve got to win as many of them as possible.

“Every team has a little blip; we’ve not got to the top of the league by luck; if we carry on doing what we have been for the rest of the season we will be up there.

“We were all absolutely gutted after the Crawley game; we have been for the last couple of games.

“We know that we haven’t been at the races lately – we will be back to our best on Saturday and will get to top of the league.

“Every game is difficult, anyone can beat anyone but we will go out there and give a good account of ourselves.”
