Rovers U18s got back to winning ways on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Lincoln City.
Irish U18s International Evan Finnegan scored the only goal of the game, although manager Paul Stancliffe admitted that his side could have scored more.
“It was a good game,” he said
“We created a lot of chances but needed to be a bit more ruthless in defending and attacking.
“We deserved the win and had enough chances to get two or three goals. We relied on Callum [Myers] in goal to keep the ball out of our goal out when we went 1-0 up.
“It’s taken us a few weeks for us to get back into our stride but I’d like to think we’ve come back a bit stronger after the break.
“We had the Christmas break and then the weather interruption so the concentration can sometimes dip but they’re all working hard – they’re still a relatively young team so you have to take that into consideration too.”
“In general we’re quite pleased with how things are progressing.”
