This will be the 56th game between the two sides with the visitors having a slight advantage over Rovers in terms of victories by virtue of 25 wins to 21.

Nine of the meetings have ended in a draw.

Of games played between the sides in February over the course of history, both sides have won twice, and one game ended in a goalless draw.   The last time the sides met in the second month of the year, Rovers thumped the visitors 4-0 thanks to goals from David Roche, Tony Cunningham, Mark Yates and Kevin Hulme.

4-0 is the highest victory for Rovers over their opponents, and they have beaten Walsall by this margin on three separate occasions. (1933, 1935, 1994)

On only two occasions have both sides failed to score, once in February 1970 and the last time in May 1982.

Rovers have averaged two goals per game in the last five matches in Doncaster, with the Saddlers averaging under a goal per game.
