Doncaster Rovers would like to say a big thank you to the junior football teams from the under 7’s age group that took part in the Quick Play Cup on Saturday at the Keepmoat.
The Rovers foundation coaches were particularly impressed with the attitude of the young players and the skills demonstrated on Saturday. We would also like to say thank you to the coaches and parents who came out in force to support the budding players.
After an action packed morning of football, the teams took part in a medal presentation with our very own Donny Dog and a draw was conducted which paired Carcroft Village Boys with a set of Quick Play goals courtesy of Quick Play Sports and tickets to a future home Rovers home game for the team.
After a quick break to refuel for lunch, the teams then settled down to watch Doncaster Rovers take on Leyton Orient, with a 1-0 home win which resulted in Doncaster Rovers joining Tranmere at joint top of the league.
The fun doesn’t stop there for the youngsters, as they will be returning back to the Keepmoat to watch the international fixture, England u19’s v Denmark u19’s on the 5th February, all of which is included in their tournament entry.
“Just to say thanks for all your hard work yesterday with all your team, I know the Badgers had the best day EVER. They all loved it and are all rovers mad!
“Just being around the club is very special for our kids, and we hope to get them down to Keepmoat as often as possible.”
Coach Will (of the mighty Bawtry Badgers).
